Birthday Cupcakes and Green Gable Started
My first one skein project was a cupcake for my friend Cheryl. Her birthday is Sunday, but I am giving her the Birthday Cupcake today so I will post a picture of it. I have requested joining the One Skein KAL but have not seen any messages from them yet. I plan on posting this there too. The chocolate cake is cotton classic on sz 2 needles and the frosting is regal or royal alpaca. I decorated the cupcake with some pretty purple and lavender beads. The project was fun and I will be making more of these in the future.
I also jumped on the Green Gable bandwagon last night ordering the pattern and pulling out some Cotton Fleece in Alpine Lilac to make the top. I hope I am reading the pattern correctly and it will come out ok. The pattern was described on one post in the Green Gable KAL as more of a guide and I can see what the poster meant. The directions are a bit scarce. Will have to see if it makes sense as I knit along.

YUMMY! The cupcakes are FUN, aren't they? What a *sweet* birthday gift ;)
Love the knitted babes and the sock redo, but my absolute favorite picture is the pup.
I'm STILL grinning!
Thanks for the good wishes about the job..it is good to feel like I'm making a difference out there...

Hi Sharon,
I love the dolls you've made! Have you considered making and selling one to a complete stranger....like me? I'm participating in the Twin Cities Breast Cancer 3 Day, Aug 18-20. The 3 Day is a 60 mile walk which benefits breast cancer research. Anyway, I've been doing alot of walking lately (about 35 miles last week) which has left me with very little knitting time and sore feet! When I saw "Annie the wonder doll" I thought how happy a "walking doll" would me (and my feet).
Please let me know if that would be something you'd consider. Thanks!
